Sarah Gomm started her PhD at ETH Zürich in September 2020. She holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Public Administration from Konstanz University with a focus on International Relations and European Integration, and a Master’s degree of Research in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). In addition, she has obtained two Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology from Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. Besides, she conducted a field research project in Sulawesi/Indonesia and worked as a student research assistant in various positions. Outside of academia, she has worked for a fair-trade non-profit organisation in Austria, the German sub-office of UNHCR, and the European Institute for Public Administration in Barcelona amongst others.
Sarah is part of the Swiss Environmental Panel project in which Swiss citizens’ opinions and preferences on environmental issues are measured and explored in a long-term panel survey in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (Bundesamt für Umwelt, BAFU). Her main research interests lie in the field of environmental politics, public opinion research and political psychology. In her master thesis, she focused on the nexus of populist attitudes and individuals’ perspectives towards measures of environmental protection.
