Citizen preferences on private-public co-regulation in environmental governance: Evidence from Switzerland
Dennis Kolcava, Lukas Rudolph and Thomas Bernauer have been studying citizen support for environmental policy-making in the context of cooperation between the government, firms and civil society. They found that policies receive greater public support when decision-making is inclusive, sometimes even regardless of the effectiveness of the policy. Read their paper here.

The role and limits of strategic framing for promoting sustainable consumption and policy
Lukas Fesenfeld, Yixian Sun, Michael Wicki and Thomas Bernauer have collaborated to understand strategic issue framing, which is known to be an effective communication strategy to alter public opinion and citizens’ policy support. Access their research paper here.
